### Summary
The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is US Citizens and Non-US Citizens within 75 miles of Fort Huachuca. This includes Military Spouses and Involuntary Separated Military Members moving into the area within 30 days.
**This position is located at Seifert School-Age Center on Fort Huachuca, and services children ages Kindergarten through Fifth Grade.** This is a regular full-time position (40 hours) with eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plan.

### Responsibilities
* Serves as a Child and Youth Services (CYS) Assistant Director with responsibility for assisting the supervisor in the operation of an assigned CYS program IAW all applicable regulations and standards. Acts as Director in Director's absence.
* Plan, implement, and supervise a comprehensive program that promotes positive growth and development of children and youth. Provide program oversight and accountability for the performance of assigned staff and the safety and well-being of children.
* Ensure assigned staff follow risk management procedures (i.e. abuse prevention, identification, and reporting procedures; accident prevention, etc.). Monitor and analyze adult/participant ratio sheets to ensure proper staffing policies are enforced.
* Prepare work schedules for assigned staff to meet ratio and group size requirements, and ensure children/youth are appropriately supervised at all times. Assist supervisor in developing program budget.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position, to include a credit check.

* Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
* Incumbent must be able to work Monday through Friday, as well as occasional evenings for training and weekends for special events.
* Incumbent must be willing and able to travel occasionally between varying facilities on the installation and within the local commuting area as needed.
* In cases of provisional hiring, successful background investigation submission to OPM is a condition of employment that must be met no later than 30 calendar days after EOD or placement in the position for internal candidates.
* A pre-employment occupational physical is required for this position.
### Qualifications
***Minimum Qualifications:***
Must have successfully completed an undergraduate Degree that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in the field appropriate to the position consistent with:
For positions in School-Age Facilities: The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics, elementary education, youth development, youth administration, education, physical education, special education, or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as related behavioral science.
1. Experience teaching children or other work that demonstrated the ability to perform the duties of the position.
2. The ability to select, train, and supervise childcare and preschool employees, family childcare providers, or other care-giving adults.
3. The ability to develop and implement child development programs, including family day care programs, part-day preschool programs, and before and after school programs.
4. The ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions.
5. Possess ample oral and communications skills and analytical writing skills, and can present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences.
A combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in a subject matter field (24 semester hours) appropriate to the position (see above), plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described above.
1. Three (3) months of directly related work experience teaching children or similar work requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position to be filled.
2. The ability to develop and implement child development programs, including family day care programs, part-day preschool programs, and before and after school programs.
3. The ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions.
4. Possess ample oral and communications skills and analytical writing skills, and can present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences.

***Best Qualified:***
Must possess at least 12 months of experience working for a Child and Youth Services (CYS) program, and work experience utilizing the Child and Youth Management System (CYMS) or a similar Vermont Systems (VSI) computer program.
